Q: Why did you decide to specialize in newborns?
A: Honestly, I just followed my gut and my passion. As a parent myself, I know how quickly those few weeks of newborn newness fly by, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. Part of what inspires me is knowing that I can capture those sweet and fleeting moments artistically and preserve them for a lifetime. (Plus, I get to work with babies! Who doesn’t love holding babies??)

Q: You photographed our baby, but now we want family pictures. Do you still offer family sessions?
A:
Yes! Even though I do specialize primarily in newborn photography, I am still happy to photograph families as well, but these sessions may sometimes be limited to certain times of the year depending on availability around my current newborn clients. Generally these times are for a week or two in mid-March through April (when the trees are blossoming), early July, and part of October, but we do try to accommodate these requests when we can. Please contact us right away if you’re interested in booking a family session.

Q: How far in advance do you book?
A:
For newborn sessions, I typically encourage booking in the third trimester or at least 2 weeks before your due date so that there’s adequate time to prepare as sessions usually take place within the first two weeks of their life. I reserve a certain number of sessions per month, so please book right away if our newborn services are something you’re interested in.

Q: Do you do milestone sessions for older babies and children too?
A: I sure do! I also offer Baby Plans as well. Let me know if you’re interested so we can start planning their next sessions!

Q: What is the session fee, and what does it include?
A:
The session fee is $200 for Newborn sessions and $150 for families, maternity, and children’s milestone sessions. Our session fees are non-refundable and are required to reserve your spot on our calendar, and it covers all the time spent preparing for the session, the use of our outfits and props, customizing our props for your session, the time of the session itself, laundering the wraps, layering pieces, and background fabrics after your session, the time spent selecting and preparing your images for viewing, and your personalized appointment and presentation at your Reveal session. Any other prints, products, or digital files can be purchased separately as part of a Collection at your personalized Reveal Session.

Q: Do you still offer digital images?
A:
Absolutely! With each image ordered and printed through us, you get the accompanying image as a web sized digital file for online sharing and viewing, so you’re guaranteed to leave with at least 10 prints and digital images after selecting a Collection. If you want even more digital files, we have several options for you too. After choosing any of our Collections, you can also add on more sets of digitals or the personalized digital slideshow so you can take home every image you love.

Q: Why can’t I just get the digitals?
A:
In our experiences from delivering files in the past, the vast majority share them immediately on Facebook but never get around to printing. When they’d come back to me for their next session, sometimes years later, they’d often remark to me that they were so busy and never knew what sizes to get, so they never printed anything and “now it’s too late,” either because the USB/disc/files got lost or because they don’t want to print old family photos when they’re coming to me now for new family photos. That whole part of their life never got printed and will not be around when technology changes for their grandkids to see! Couple that with my own experience of losing digital images (we’re talking about ALL of my pictures from high school and college, my engagement photos, and the pictures from our honeymoon—all of which were backed up, twice!), I realized that I would be doing my clients a HUGE disservice by only providing digital images that will never make it off of Facebook or the USB. My clients trust me to provide them with images that will last for lifetimes, and that is what my archival printing offers that digital does not.

Q: How are your prints different than prints I could get at Shutterfly?
A: Great question! The short answer is that there’s no comparison. We wouldn’t be comparing apples to apples here by comparing our artwork to paper you get from Shutterfly. There are MANY reasons why you should print through us, such as our professional and heirloom quality that are not available with consumer labs, our Lifetime Warranty on our framed prints, gallery canvases, and albums, the fact that our lay-flat albums are handmade in Italy, our fine art papers, the investment you’re making in your family’s legacy and artwork and making sure it’ll stand the test of time, etc, but you should really contact us about scheduling your free consultation to find out why for yourself. Text and 2D graphics on your screen don’t do these products justice. 😉

Q: How much do your collections cost?
A:
We offer four different luxury Collections to choose from that each include fine art prints, digitals, and more. Collections start at $600 and go up to $2400 with the option to add on extra artwork and digital files onto each collection so you can truly customize it to suit your needs. Most clients prefer to spend about $1500 on their session and artwork.

Q: What if I’m sick or there’s an emergency and I need to reschedule my session?
A:
Not to worry. If something comes up, we can reschedule your portrait or Reveal Session one time for no additional charge, but subsequent rescheduling may result in a rescheduling fee of $75 for each occurrence.

Q: When will I be able to see my images after the session?
A:
Your images will be ready for viewing and ordering about 1-3 weeks after the date of your session at the Reveal Session. Once they’re ready or near completion, we will follow up with you about scheduling your Reveal Session.

Q: Will the images be posted in an online gallery after the session?
A:
We are happy to provide the images that you selected during the Reveal Session to an online gallery after the Reveal Session has taken place, but unfortunately we are unable to do so before the Reveal because it is against our policies to share and distribute unpurchased images. We are also unable to share entire galleries unless all images from the gallery have been purchased as well. Thank you for your understanding.

Q: How long until my products arrive after I order them?
A:
After you place your order, we artistically retouch and polish every image that will be printed. Our typical turnaround time for everything is 4-6 weeks although we strive to have it ready for you sooner. Rush orders are available on most products, so please inquire about pricing if your timeline is urgent.

Q: All of this sounds great! Now what do I do?
A:
Great! Once you decide you want to book, or even if you’re not entirely sure yet but you want more information, we’ll plan a pre-session consultation to answer any questions you might have and to see if our services will be a good fit for you, see our sample products, pricing guide, and product guides, design details, etc. If you decide you want to go ahead and book your next session with us, the non-refundable session fee will be collected to reserve your spot on our calendar. We’ll also be in touch before your session as we prepare for it, so we’ll be available to help in any way we can along the way. I can’t wait to work with you and get to know you better!
